Are you ready to land a tech internship or full-time position for Winter/Summer 2025?

Simplify your job search journey through Aether!

Aether is a tech conference and career fair with both in-person and virtual components for both software and hardware topics.

At Aether, expand your network by connecting with recruiters and industry professionals from companies looking to fill tech related internship positions. Networking is the best way to find a job - don’t miss this amazing opportunity to kickstart your career!

In 2024, the inaugural Aether (previously Career++) surpassed our expectations with an astounding 1200 participants! This year we are excited to bring back this extraordinary event on the 10th to 11th of October and tentatively expect more than 2000 participants!

Reach the finish line by attending this tech-focused career fair to learn more about available internships, what each company and their recruitment process is like, and how to stand out as an applicant.

Aether will run from 11:00 AM to 4:45 PM virtually on November 21st and from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM on November 22nd, tentatively in the Donadeo Innovation Center for Engineering at the University of Alberta North Campus. Additional information will be released closer to the event.

About Us

The Computer Engineering Club

For over 35 years, the University of Alberta's Computer Engineering Club has brought Computer Engineering students together, organized specialized events and initiatives, and advocated to larger bodies — such as the Engineering Students' Society, the Faculty of Engineering, and the Students' Union. In recent years, however, we have expanded our scope to include students in Computer Science, and Data Science fields who share similar interests in industry.

We have a longstanding history of running large-scale events focused on educational and hands-on learning for programming and design, such as HackED and HackED Beta, Alberta's largest student-run hackathons with over 700 participants. Now, we are excited to continue this fairly new endeavor, to connect undergraduate students to employers and businesses in a way that is unprecedented on our campus: Aether

While Aether is still somewhat new, last year we had an incredible participation rate of over 1000 students and received overwhelmingly positive feedback from the students and companies! Furthermore, many students successfully received internship or new grad job offers directly from this event! Some of the companies and organizations that attended previously are:

Servus Credit Union, DriveWyze, Inflexion Games, Technology Alberta, PCL, Drugbank, Sparrow Connected, Fig Finance, DevFacto, Blue Marvel Ai/Spartan Controls, Lantern, Amii, IEEE, Microchip, and Paper Leaf
